@anxdpanic
I can confirm the behavior described by PaddyMaxson. This also happens with version 5.5.1 of the add-on on Windows and QNAP-NAS (Ubuntu 14.04) with Kodi 17.6, 17.5 and even Kodi 16.1. Could this be related to Google's attempt to block Amazon's Fire devices from YouTube?
But I'm facing a problem right before the activation. Since upgrading to add-on version 6.0.1 I just get a never disappearing busy notification popup when opening the YouTube add-on. After some time then even Windows-Kodi 17.6 crashes. On QNAP NAS it's also very sluggish but I could sometime (rarely) get to the activation dialog but the error mentioned by PaddyMaxon then appears on the Youtube activation website.
The full kodi.log is here. The related log entries start at line 1625 I guess, it seems to hang in an endless/recursive loop. I'm normally using a personal API key and this has worked for long time. I already tried with a completely clean setup (removed add-on and settings to start from scratch), but the issue persists.
