Setting up API keys is easy and the howto even includes screenshots of everything. I understand it's inconvenient but it's also a small inconvenience. (Guess wouldnt thake long, thil someone offer a AdBlocker for Kodi). There are also AdBlocker within the Android aka. Play-Store for Android Browsers which be able to block Advertisment Videos (at least according to there description, didnt try these.) And the Playstore is hostet by Google. So you want all this done, risking the addon, introducing ads, then coding something to circumvent those ads... all so you don't have to spend 5 mins setting up an API like the rest of us have had to do?
Possible, yes.
I still think as long as the Addon would follow the Rules of Google, i dont c why they shuld desist the Addon. (Guess the bigger Question will be if (and i would be suprised this wouldnt happen) someone code an AdBlocker for the YT Addon, Kodi would be allowd to host it in the same Repository as the YT-Addon. Im not a lawyer, but dont c how Google could influence something like that. (AS long the Addblocker doesnt get shipped right beside The YT-Addon.)
But guess Kodi doent have the strength to mess with Google.

Understand the Fear
So at the End (if ur right) it would probably be eighter, a ad-poluted Addon, or Nothing.
(Possible that there are Ppl out there who rather would pay the fee to YT to get rid of Advertisments.)
But Ad the End, we Pay Kodi with our Time, dont we? So i see that it make sense to follow the way it currently works.

Knew, not a easy Topic. Still would finde it interesting to c, if a approved Addon + Adblocker would be doable (second YT Addon), but if something like this would higher the risk to the current addon to have to be desisted, it may make sens not to try it.
Sad
So guess i (as many others) will end up to create a personal API (
