Solved CANNOT get Library populated in Kodi
#1
I have two androids G Box and a Mac computer.  I have not used Kodi for a very long time but used to be a good supporter of XBMC.  My issue today is this  I have hard drives with Movies of the old Video_TS formats.  I have copied my fan art etc to the hard drive  I can see the file marked XBMC  I updated all of my units and Now this is happening.  On my G BOX Kodi 18.6 I go to movies in left side  It tells me that my library is currently empty.  I enter files section I see My hard drive.  HOW do I get it to populate my library from here.  I right click my mouse and it goes back on the screen. So I go to movies click on files section click on the word files and there is my hard drive and the words Add Videos  I click on the word Add Videos /Add Video source/ Browse/ nothing   My hard drive is not listed so I cannot set content etc.   This was happening before when I updated to 17. something and I just abandoned everything but now I want to watch all my movies.  I downloaded the software at lest 4 times, i have tried other hard drives both old and new with no luck.  the hard drive is recognized because I can go Movies/enter files section/#1 movies/#1 movies/and up pops all my files with the old cover art displayed but it will not just play the old Video_TS movies as I actually have to click on the file and open it up to the contents   I Have no frigging idea what to do   I have looked this up everywhere and watched every video and nothing works.  Please Help if you know what to do....

You should never use a mouse with Kodi, use a keyboard and you will find it a much better experience. Kodi is not a mouse-click driven UI, as you have found with your right-clicking. Try pressing 'C' on the keyboard to bring up the Context Menu instead of using your mouse, that should set you in the right direction. See https://kodi.wiki/view/Keyboard_controls for a list of keyboard controls.

With regards adding Sources, this may help https://kodi.wiki/view/Adding_video_sources

That sounded like a great idea but on my Mac the C button does not work   I didn't say but the program scans all my files for the Library   There is movie fanart showing but when I click on Title there is none showing under the Title TITLE when I click on that.  There is fanart under unwatched and Random

Alright. I re read the above note and went to the link.  Re read it and still nothing.  I go left on the button that is options and after clicking everything under the sun I discovered that the second line from the bottom that says unwatched can be changed to all videos and that populates the title TITLE.  Such a simple fix but if I hadn’t gone to the link I never would have found the fix.  I did notice there are a lot of people who do not want the UNWATCHED feature and there were all kinds of fix’s but this is by far the easiest.  LOL.

Thank you so very much.  I have worked on this for two days.  Why is it preprogrammed for unwatched right off the get go.  That should be a note in the instructions. Unwatched. Watched and All Videos are the options.   It’s a great feature.  My hat goes off to the programmer
