PVR.WMC latest

OK This is just a functionality question.
Lets say I want to watch tv. I want to stay on this channel because they are running a marathon. Right now, at the end of every program on the guide, KODI stops and goes back to the TV channel page. At that point, I have to select the channel again to get it to play. Kodi does not crash, it just does what I noted. I usually lose a few seconds to minutes of a show because I may be walking in the house.  I just want it to play the channel I am on without having to select the channel again.  Is there something I am missing?

Just watch the channel instead of picking the episode from the guide.  You can select the channel from the channel list.

well that is what I am doing. That is why I am asking. If something is recording at the same time, I pick the channel, I select "Switch to channel", and at the end of whatever is playing it returns to the channel lineup.

So you are choosing to watch a channel that already has a recording ongoing.  In that case, I believe the behavior you are seeing is expected, since the data is already streaming to disk rather that starting a new one for a live-tv stream it just used the already recording stream (you should also see the stream start at the beginning of the recording, rather then the current time).
