[WINDOWS] Windows Media Player as external DirectShow player for videos

Hi,

Would it be possible to implement an integration of a third-party DirectShow capable player in XBMC?

For example WMP (Windows Media Player), Media Player Classic (MPC) with RadLight MPC DirectShow Filter, or MPC-HC (Media Player Classic - Home Cinema), like MediaPortal does. Making it possible to use third-party DirectShow decoders and filters inside XBMC.

...or perhaps even add DirectShow filter-based framework support to XBMC's own video player?

It is a suggestion.

Thanx anyway to all developers for this great software! Big Grin

Anything is possible with software, but the problem is finding someone willing to take the time to code it.

Always read the XBMC online-manual, FAQ and search the forum before posting.
Do not e-mail XBMC-Team members directly asking for support. Read/follow the forum rules.

been using xbmc for quite a bit and have been blowed away by it's easy handling for the user. However, i would love if there was a way one could force external codes to play certain files rather than xbmc handling all the codecs. External Codecs like ffdshow and Ac3 Filter offer much more options and will be cool if xbmc added support for them.

Thanks
