The official download of 18.8 x64 from your official link, is being flagged as a virus in firefox. I googled it and others are reporting the same thing.

Apparently chrome and IE flag it as virus as welll. Virus total shows adware, you guys add adware in 18.8?

It happens on every release? I have been using kodi/xbmc for over 10 years, and it has never happened before on any release.

Maybe you've always downloaded it after the definitions have been fixed, it's certainly been reported multiple times in the past.

Plenty of Windows anti-virus tools seem to enjoy flagging Kodi's .exe file as dangerous, for whatever reason.

Clicking the link above instead after deleting the file flagged as a virus solved my problem (there is ofc no link to click above, its just a figure of speech, the link is the link in your browser)
not getting flagged as a virus now
try it if it makes you feel safer could be another server this file is stored on
so possible the file you dl when clicking windows has a malfunction or firefox is just being firefox thx
