Live broadcast TV and deinterlacing - current Nvidia Shield now ok to use?
#1
Hi,

coming from a Fire Stick I'm damaged when it comes to deinterlacing for live TV broadcasts.
I'm looking at upgrading to an Nvidia Shield, but read that it too had issues in posts as recently as 2019.

In his fantastic hardware thread and the July 2020 update, @wrxtasy writes deinterlacing for the Shield works properly, so I just wanted to check what/when the deinterlacing issues were addressed, and whether it's safe to buy a Shield these days?
It if is, will the Shield TV suffice for live TV and recorded TV, or is there a need to go to the Pro?

Thank you for your help!

I posted this a little while ago, so I just thought I'd check if there is anyone who might know?

Thank you!

I've been using the live channels app & watching OTA broadcasts, sourced from HDHomeRun. Haven't noticed any deinterlacing artifacts.
