MKV seeking works ok, but MP4 does not....
#1
I'm using the 18.7 Leia (LibreELEC 9.2.3) on Raspberry 3.

When playing any movie in MP4 container, I would seek to, say, 10:00 min. The slider would be set to that position, but in reality, the movie would be playing
from a different, random position. Be it 5:40 or 7:23 or 8:11.....

However, if I convert this movie to a MKV container (with mkvtoolnix), the problem would dissappear. The desired and the actual position would match.

This has been happening forever, with previous builds and all MP4 files (usually big ones, >500 MB)....

Can it be fixed? Thanks a lot... Smile

To receive meaningful assistance you will need to provide a full debug log.

The instructions are here... debug log (wiki)

If you are using the Basic Method, then ensure the following is applied...
1.Enable debugging in Settings>System Settings>Logging,
2.Restart Kodi
3.Replicate the problem.
4.Upload the log to Kodi Paste Site manually or use the Kodi Logfile Uploader. (wiki) With either method post the link to the log back here.

If you are using the Advanced Method ensure you have correctly created and applied the advancedsettings.xml file (wiki)

In both instances, you should see the word DEBUG throughout the log.

Note: Full logs only. No partial or redacted logs
Do NOT post your logs directly into the forum. Use the Kodi Paste Site. Post the link to your pasted log in the forum

Are your mp4's downloaded off the internet or are you creating your own? A lot of mp4 off the internet have corrupt timestamps.

Install Avidemux and open the file, most likely you will see an error like this one...

It is not a Kodi problem.
