So, here we go. Hot on the heels of what is intended to be the final release in the 18.x "Leia" series, it's time to give you good people a taste of things to come.
So, with no further ado, we'd like to present the first Alpha releases of Kodi 19.x "Matrix".

This is a major release, so, as you'd expect, it comes with many new features. However, it will inevitably cause problems for some people,
which is why we'll go through a more traditional Alpha/Beta/Release Candidate model. As such, then, please be aware that installing this will inevitably break things,
and we'd really like your help at that point to identify the problems and get them fixed.

I remember last year a prior article on Kodi 19 indicating that an integrated web browser would be included in this version.  Will this no longer be implemented?  I sincerely hope this isn't the case.

An integrated web browser would allow multimedia access that isn't currently available through Kodi add-ons.  The following are two examples of this.  I have an MLB.TV subscription, and the service includes the option of listening to the radio broadcasts of the baseball games.  While the MLB.TV Kodi add-on includes support for the video broadcasts of games, it doesn't include support to listen to the radio-only broadcasts.  An integrated Kodi web browser would allow the capability to listen to the radio-only feeds.  Another example involves SiriusXM.  There isn't a Kodi add-on available that will allow someone with a SiriusXM subscription to listen to the online feeds of its channels.  An integrated Kodi web browser would allow someone with a SiriusXM subscription to log into their service and to listen to their feeds.

I do sincerely hope that this previously-announced feature of the web browser doesn't get dropped from Kodi 19.  If it does, it will be a real disappointment.

Then prepare to be disappointed.

Yes, a while ago, one of our team members had a Chromium based prototype ready. Development has been halted because of changes made by the browser developers, which made it impossible to integrate into Kodi.

Even if the limitation could be overcome, I personally doubt that it is viable to ship a web rendering engine. Implementing and maintaining supporting on 5+ different system architectures (with dozens off sub variants) is a tremendous task. If you would consider that any Chromium update has to be implemented in a timely fashion, I'm sure it would need a full-time dev to support it.

On the other hand, you can launch a browser of your choice to play the content you want.

Do you think that new 'Game Save State Manager' by @NikosSiak from Google Summer of Code 2020 will make it into Kodi "Matrix" final release?

https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=356366

https://github.com/garbear/xbmc/pull/120

See that Game Savestate Manager was not mentioned under the "Games" section and neither was almost any other games related improvements or enhancements?

Hoping that @garbear & @a1rwulf & @Fuzzard & @velocity @lrusak be able to tell us what other features and functions related to playing Games with RetroPlayer that has made into Kodi-Game and the XBMC Core?

Example:

https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/pulls?q=gam...etroplayer+

And that is just in addition to what has been merged into all the kodi-game repositories?

https://github.com/kodi-game

I am not sure exactly what but surely quite a few other new games, game add-ons, and game core / game cores or libretro related 'stuff' must have made in into Kodi "Matrix"?

Perhaps there is even so much new game related 'stuff' that it deserve its own blog-post on the kodi.tv news-page?

Also Really looking forward to Video Scalers for RetroPlayer gaming https://github.com/garbear/xbmc/pull/86 and Integer Scaling support implementation https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/pull/18194
