Should maybe note that the upcoming upgrade to Android 11 for Android TV will contain a new Generic Kernel Image (GKI) which should bring additional device drivers.

Should hopefully have many more peripherals​​​​​​ drivers for USB hub chips, wired network adapters, Wi-Fi adapters, storage controllers, and more.

Still not a cheap solution but at least there are few USB-C hubs that feature integrated 1Gbps Ethernet adapters for those wanting wired Gigabit network.

Can I use paragon for exFAT and NTFS drives connected through hub to play local content from a SSD through Kodi on the new "Chromecast"? 

Thinking of buyin that thing, because amazon fire tv stick gets bloated more and more. But I'm using Disney+, Prime and Netflix, so a single kodi device isn't the solution.

The paragon app you can install will only allow you to copy files between internal storage and external storage. In order to play directly from external storage, you will be OS level file system drivers which means it either need to be already in the OS or you will have to root the device and install the root version of the app.
