Back up for multiple devices

Hi not sure if this is a skin issue or a kodi issue.

I have two devices. Rasp pi and Android tv both running kodi With amber skin, basic setup, no Add ons to play my own content from my Synology NAS.

The Android tv has been playing up so had to do factory reset. Is there anyway to Back up the file /skin / thumbnail / cover art Etc settings From my rasp pi amber setup to this Android tv or do I have to just start again? Tried using skin settings backup to usb and restore on tv but nothing happens when it Says completed restore.

anyhelp is much appreciated and best practice for multi device advice will be handy moving forward if I add third device

@Ngac, thanks for the feedback. I have heard from other users that the backup/restore function is not working properly. It seems the addon used for that purpose is not working as it should.

A possible solution is to use the Backup addon (https://github.com/robweber/xbmcbackup/t...pton-1.5.2), it is very powerful and continues to be maintained. I use this myself.

The wiki for the addon explains very well its configuration and usage: https://github.com/robweber/xbmcbackup/wiki

I tried this but when it restore nothing happened. It said restoring but nothing changed. Does this restore the server links and username and passwords etc?

Could this be because I’m using android device and rasp pi and not same device

@Ngac , it could be.  I do not think that it would restore username and passwords, but it is best to ask in the addon thread: https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=129499
