Nvidia Shield Kodi: 4K homecinema setup and 3D MKV movies
#1
Hello,

I upgraded my homecinema to 4K.
Beside some other problems (see my other thread), I have now also problems with most of my 3D MKV movies files (SBS/HOU).
They play all the years without any problem.
Now around only 30% of the 3D MKV files play and 70% play but don't send 3D signal out of Kodi and/or the Nvidia Shield.

All my 3D MKV files have in the file name *.3D.SBS.mkv* or *.3D.HOU.mkv*
I compared so far the running 3D MKV files with the not running 3D MKV files via MediInfo and can't see differences in the data.
Also I checked it MKV header information with MKVToolNix GUI.
There is an option to give under the "stereoscopic" line a value "1" for e.g. SBS. I filled the value "1" in some 3D MKV SBS files.
Again: after doing this Kodi and/or the Shield don't output the 3D MKV files as 3D. My beamer shows the left and the right pictures by e.g. SBS.

Has anyone an idea how to solve that?
Any idea, why some 3D MKV play as 3D and some not even they based on same media data?
