Quadrophonic Flac - Option to ignore the WAVEFORMATEXTENSIBLE_CHANNEL_MASK header?
#1
There is a quite wide spread problem with newer receivers that 4.0 with a FL + FR + SL + SR mapping does not work over HDMI. You can see the extent of the problem here:

As far as I can tell with Flacs this mapping seems to be caused by the WAVEFORMATEXTENSIBLE_CHANNEL_MASK header because Flac only offers a channel count in its own headers. Without this header 4.0 FL + FR + SBL + SBR seems to be used whenever 4 flac channels is defined which has much better compatibility. VLC seems to ignore this header and this does result in these files playing through the back speakers instead of the surrounds but that is much better than half the channels going missing.

Could an advanced option to disable inspection of the channel mask header be added?
