Need help configuring Kodi on OFFLINE machine
#1
Problem: Offline machine needs Kodi configured for live TV/PVR, and WMC remote.

Avialible Kodi Add-on's for Windows all say: To install this add-on you must do so from the Add-on manager

Argus TV
DVBLink\TV Mosaic
DVBViewer
MediaPortal
NextPVR
PCTV
WMC- Not included in Windows 10 (AFAIK)

I am unable to manually download any addons from here: https://kodi.tv/addons/

I would like to be able to setup Kodi for live TV, however I need another way to obtain the backends\addons required. I can ferry data files, but programs cannot connect to the interent, and cannot require network interface ie. localhost:loopback, as there is no network protocol stack, and I dont think one should be needed to use a TV tuner card Tongue

I see addons can be loaded from .zip files, where to get them please?

Windows 10 x64 1909 build 18363.1139
Kodi v18

Looking in addons > my addons > PVR Clients > **Client Name** >settings, I notice that all the PVR addons I have tried so far appear to have an IP/port configuration to interface with the backend. Do all the Kodi PVR addons interface throught the network protocol?

The box in question does not/will not, have a network protocol in effect, therefore I am looking for a PVR/Live TV addon/backend that doesn NOT use a network protocol interface.

I have tried:

Argus TV
DVBLink\TV Mosaic
DVBViewer
MediaPortal
NextPVR
PCTV

There is no WMC in Win 10, so I'm wondering if there are any other PVR clients for Kodi that do not use a network interface because without the PVR and Live TV Kodi has no use to me.

Is the standard PVR backend interface through the netork protocol stack?

Thank you to whomever combined the threads. I would have been glad to reuse the first one; however I find forums typically want users to start a new threads for each individual topic/issues, and since this one had been marked 'solved', I just thought...

No problems. It is the same topic so best to continue in the same thread. I also moved you to the PVR section.

If your PVR backend is on the same PC, can't you simply use 127.0.0.1?
