Hi,

first I have found some topics about this, but no solution.

So my question for devs is if there is some possibility to add to Kodi some feature to do automatic encoding of subtitles which are not in UTF8 enconding so
there is no need to go to settings and change default charset.

I do have many files where subtitles are in different encodings so changing default settings after each video is really annoying.

I have used different player for several years and there is this feature. This player is only for satelite recievers so i can not use it anymore on PC.

The basic functionality in this player is that before playing the video it detects subtitle enconding and converts it to UTF8.

This would be nice thing to have and I think it wouldn't be so difficult to implement.
