What needs testing?
- @UlfSchmidt, please check your monochrome TV station logos a last time.
Working well now! Once again a big thank you for taking so much care!

something's buggy on Apple's side, had to upload another build with different version. Although even 2210 is marked as invalid while being available in TF.

Why is it with the last version some TV/Radio logos are with a white background now, and some are even not loading. Am I doing something wrong?

Oh no. I was really convinced to have it all in good shape now.

1. The background color for the TV station logos is automatically set now. Dark logo = light background, light logo = dark background. This is for better readability.
2. Icons should of course load. If you can provide screenshots (or share the icons via file share) this will help me looking into this.

Are you able to view the logos I use? https://github.com/joshuisman/Ziggo-logos-NL

Please note that https://github.com/joshuisman/Ziggo-logo...cus_TV.png and https://github.com/joshuisman/Ziggo-logo..._Radio.png are the exact same image, only the file name is different. The one for Radio is loading, the TV one isn't.

The other ones not loading at all:

https://github.com/joshuisman/Ziggo-logo...ork_HD.png

Thanks for sharing the logos. I downloaded all logos and copied them to my Kodi test setup. Then I tried loading the ones which you report not working. For me it works (screenshot from iPhone Xs simulator): https://abload.de/img/simulatorscreenshot-inrjul.png

Can you delete the image cache and retry? For now I see no reason why it should not work.

On the automatic background selection: Overall the choice for the background does not look too bad (exception is "RTL 4 HD").

I just reinstalled the app completely and the same problem with the same logos not loading. In Kodi they load up fine. Wait a sec, found the issue. It's my setup.

Anyway the choice for the background color seems to be a matter of different taste. IMHO the white backgrounds makes it look cluttered. Not sure what to suggest how to do it different, as I think you can't please everybody. The only thing I can think of is just to let the logos they way they are delivered by Kodi, and maybe let the user choose a general background color to suit his/her needs as best as possible?

I am curious, as independent of the background changes the images should load: Which device are you using? And did you let the App clear its cache at startup? Is the App from AppStore (1.6.1) loading the icons properly? And does the Web IF show them?

On the automatic background: I agree, the black/white can look a bit cluttered -- depending on the logos used. On the other hand not being able to read dark logos in the grid view and white logos in the list view is also not a good choice. The old way was of course putting some pressure on the user to select icons which fit both backgrounds. A user selection is of course also possible and would have been easier to implement. At least I learned a lot about image handling.

I just found out it's only a problem on one of the Kodi devices I use. It's an Intel Nuc with Ubuntu. Any idea on how to flush the Kodi PVR image cache on that machine?

I also have Kodi on MacOS which does show the icons properly. That's how my confusion started.

Good news. What about simply deleting the folder .kodi/userdata/Thumbnails ?

Btw, just working on adding a setting for the TV logo background (auto, dark, light). Will not be rocket science.

Just thinking about the background. Don't know if you have the Signal app but you can choose a background. And they're offering backgrounds with the color shifting. If you would implement that as the channel list/grid background than there's a good chance more logos are completely visible, just by moving the list/grid up or down.

I now implemented a new Remote App setting which allows to select the background behaviour (PR #238).

When will you make this interesting change publicly available? 2209.1 is the current version available via TestFlight, but it doesn’t include this modification. Thanks!
