license changes with v4.1
#1
Information
A few months ago we've released v4 with a radical license change: we've switched from a complete _free_ tool to yearly fee (to help us keep this running).

The limited version of 4.0.x contained the following restrictions:

- 50 movies
- 10 TV shows
- a limited amount of API call
- all features unlocked

this was intended to to provide some sort of "trial" for new users, where you can test all features  for a limited subset of your library.

But as the feedback of our users has shown, this was not a perfect solution for most users (especially for those who want to maintain their library after the license has run out). After having an internal discussion we've decided to switch the restrictions the following way:

FREE version :
- unlimited movies/TV shows
- all tmm _base_ functions available (update data source, rename, export, edit, ...)
- TMDB active (is able to scrape movies, movie sets, TV shows, limited artwork for those areas)

PRO version:
- all other scrapers
- trailer download
- subtitle download
- Trakt.tv integration

with this approach users are able to use the tmm base functionality in an unrestricted way (along with one scraper which provides all data) - even if the license run out (not falling back to 50 movies/10 TV shows). If users are not satisfied with the free features, they can upgrade to the PRO version by buying a license (still annual since we cannot/will not change this).

At the moment we're implementing the details of this new way into v4.1, so this may take a while before being finished

Ok. I'm with you and willing to go Pro.

But how many API calls will we get with Pro?
Is there a special TMDB, Fanart, TvDB Api licence included?
And if, how much will it cost?
10 Bucks p.a. is not much for that amount of Api-calls.

Or are you planing some kind of Scraperaddon, payed seperatly?

API calls will not be restricted by tmm, but from the scraped sites/APIs.
We will include API keys for all scrapers (except MPDB which is a private scraper. TVDB is in negotiation for their v4 API)
10€ p.a. - same as now
