v19 Artwork Dump - download scraper provided artwork
(2021-06-19, 10:36)ShibajiCh Wrote: Thanks but I don't want to save any images in my movie folder. Is that possible with Artwork Dump? Please advise.
Hmmm, I have already answered that. You don't need Artwork Beef/Dump to cache your scraped artwork. It happens automatically during the scraping process. Kodi has always cached scraped artwork, well before either of those addons were available.

I thought I understood what you were after (caching new artwork added after the scrape) but now it seems like that is not what you are asking.

How do you know it is not being cached. What are you seeing that makes you think it is not happening?

Hi @Karellen,
When I'm using The MovieDB Scraper only some images are loading. Images like discart, clear logo, clear image, etc. are not getting added. Artwork Dump is unable to save those extra images in my Kodi Thumbnails folder. However, if I'm using Universal Movie scraper then all those extra images are getting added and are being saved to my Thumbnails folder. Artwork Dump only adds those images if I'm giving write permission to my default movie folder. Please advise.

Thanks,
ShibajiCh.

Hi,

for me Artwork Dump does not download album art like discart and back when I choose "Download existing artwork for new library items". Both discart and back show in the library information window though. Where you can select which artwork to show in the library.

In the settings I have All artwork types selected for "Music library art to download"

Artist art appears to work fine.

Edit: It shouldn't be a permission issue as I'm able to add/delete/rename files in the albums folders via Kodi File Manager. CDArtManager had no issues to add art to these folders as well.

Possibly related to that I noticed that Artwork Dump behaves a bit weird during the download. Say I added a couple new albums to my library, then download art for new library items, it then slowly goes from 0-99% showing just one album and then it quickly finishes all the other albums within the last 1%. All while the first album takes multiple minutes before the remaining albums are finished within seconds.

Artwork Dump also appears to have issues when an album has multiple CD folders like
Album1/
Album2/CD1/
Album2/CD2/

Is that file structure outdated nowadays?

Thanks.

Disregard, I read the wiki wrong.

It has probably been asked before.

None of the media managers have the ability to save extrafanarts in the movie folder. Would you consider to add the artwork beef module that looks into extrafanart folder to load matrix?

According to their website, TMM does support extrafanart... https://www.tinymediamanager.org/docs/mo...ra-artwork

@Edworld
I know Media Companion (freeware) will download extra fanart and if I'm not mistaken, I believe it has the option to use extrafanart folders or not as well as file naming options. It is a very feature rich program but the downside being a steep learning curve.

Yes, I am pretty sure all the media managers do it. I don't use them, so I can't 100% confirm from personal experience.

The conversation was a carry over from another thread where TMM was being discussed. Though all TMM discussions should now move to the TMM forum

Thanks.
So do I just leave this on defaults, or what settings do you recommend?

@revhead

Are you asking me a question? The only settings I change are in the General tab.
  • I enable the first two settings so artwork is downloaded into my local folders.
  • I don't want any existing artwork in my local folders overwritten, so that setting is disabled.
  • I ensure that all media types are selected in "Media types to process automatically"
  • I have "All Artwork types" selected for Video and Music library artwork
  • And then I adjust the final setting to how many extra fanart I want downloaded. None for me as some of the fanart at TMDB is not that great, so I manually select the extra ones I want.

Also make sure you have your Movie Set folder and Artist Information Folder specified in Kodi settings - Settings>Media>Music and >Video

Hi there, hi Rector!

The addon is flawless. Thank you!

Anyway since yesterday I am facing a Problem. TMDB is not providing all posters anymore. I hope this is just temporarily. I scraped my tvshows yesterday and kodi was not able to get all posters with good old TMDB scraper. Artwork dump couldn't get those posters too.

For example the show "4 blocks" is working, the poster is shown and AD can DL it.

But the show "8 days" is not working. AD can't DL the poster.

And here comes the BOOM: if I switch scraper to "TMDB tvshows"(python), the posters are shown! Anyway, I wanna DL em 😞

The missing posters in my library are not missing @TMDB. They exist.

Any clue? Anyone facing same problem?

Thank you

Hi, not sure if it's already been asked.

But can an option be added so that we can set a location to save the artwork?

You need to provide a Debug Log which captures the issue. It does not sound like an AD problem, but maybe scraping, or site issues.

Yes, it has been asked before for Kodi in general. The answer is "no team developer is interested in undertaking the work" so the changes need to come from the community.
As for Artwork Dump, I doubt rmrector would be interested either as it directly opposes what Kodi does.
If you do save the artwork in a different location... then what? Kodi cannot find it.

Not sure if this was answered but I read through the entire thread twice and couldn't see it.

Is AD supposed to add ALL available art to the media folder? I was hoping it would just add the specific art I selected when the media was scraped. So one poster. one fanart, etc. Instead I ran AD against my existing library and now a lot of my folders have 10 posters, 20 fanarts, etc. In a large library having 30 or 40 pics you will never use in every single folder can chew up GBs quick.10.1.3
