v19 Artwork Dump - download scraper provided artwork
(2021-09-29, 16:03)shedrock Wrote: I end up with unnecessary images in my folder. Kodi or AD should be able to replace and or delete those files when and episode is upgraded.
No. That is beyond Kodi or the addon. You need to maintain your own file structure. If you are adding multiple files for the same episode, each with a slightly different filename, and they are scanned into the library and you don't delete the obsolete files, then why do you expect Kodi to delete them for you? Where does Kodi delete anything from your file structure automatically without adjusting settings and confirming the delete?
Kodi takes the attitude "if it is there, you put it there, which means you want it there"
You can't expect "If it is there, you put it there, but I guess you don't really want that so I will delete it for you" Imagine what would happen to libraries. Imagine the complaints on this forum.

Wow! slow down. You almost make it sound like I am demanding Kodi implements this feature. If so, I apologize. It was merely a suggestion. Also, I am perfectly aware that it is my responsibility to maintain my files, and I don't think you really believe that I think it's Kodi's responsibility to do so. It also does not matter what I think Kodi should or shouldn't implement, because I am not on the Kodi team of developers, but I do believe I can suggest something, which is what I meant in the previous post.

As always Karellen, thank you for very much for your input. Again, I apologize if everything in my post caused offense to anyone.

Regards,

Shedrock

No, no offense at all. I didn't think my post came across so strongly. Not my intention, sorry Smile

But... your post did not come across as a feature request/suggestion. More like what you were expecting to happen.

Hi,

I would like to ask for help creating the MSIF content described here with Artwork Dump.
https://kodi.wiki/view/Movie_set_informa...twork_Dump
The main steps 2-3 were done already.

Now to step 4:
After updating to v19, install Artwork Dump and adjust the settings.
Enable Add artwork for new videos after library updates - Done
Nominate which Media types to process automatically - Picked set only
Enable Automatically preload local video library artwork to Kodi texture cache - Enabled
Run the add-on. This will create your movie set folders and download the original artwork to the sub-folders - The folder is empty after the addon finishes. My original artwork is in every movie's folder created by tinymediamanager named like this "movieset-poster.jpg" etc.

What am I missing?

Thank you.

Yep that won't work. Artwork Dump won't work with TinyMediaManager. TMM does not include artwork links in the NFO files, so there is nothing to download.

TinyMediaManager already downloads your artwork, so you don't need Artwork Dump.

And if TMM is adding movieset artwork to your movie folders, then your TMM settings are incorrect or you are using an old version.

I see thank you for the quick answer.
Yep Im using TMM v3 that's the problem, it doesnt handle v19's new movie set folders.
I tried to save some hassle to create the folders manually. Nvm I consider TMM v4 instead.

Hi All - Question, I just implemented Artwork dump and this has been EXACTLY what i've been lookingfor to make my music db more...........static. But i do have a question surrounding structuring.

I ONLY care about and use this for music (I use TMM for movies and such). My music structure is set up like this..

./Music
./Music/Artist Information <---------------------Kodi is designated to dump artist info in here
./Music/Artists <-----------------------------------Actual Music files
          ./Music/Artists/{artists}/{album} <----General structure
./Music/Compilations <---------------------------compilation CD's
          ./Music/Compilations/{album} <--------General Structure
./Music/Lyrics/ <------------------------------------Not important in this case
./Music/Singletons/ <------------------------------Not in Kodi at all
./Music/Soundtracks/ <---------------------------Soundtrack CD's are stored here
          ./Music/Compilations/{album} <--------General structure

I want the fanarts, banners, logos, thumbs and stuff for the artist to go in the ./Music/Artist Information/{artist} folder and all the album images to go in the in the ./Music/Artist/{Artist}/{Album}  Is this possible?  from what i can tell everything seems to be dumping into the ./Music/Artists/{artists}/{album} folder instead

Hi,

there are a couple of settings in V3 you need to change and you need to scrape each set/collection

Image

TMM V3 created the following sub-folders not I. there will be more - just scraping sets is not a priority for me

Awesome thank you, I missed that setting in v3.
I solved it by installing v4 free and using only the movie set scraping settings but this is better.

I use with Leia and Matrix, using Beef and(or) Dump, works better if you also set the API keys in TMM

V3 is a tad more flexible than the free V4 as you have more scrapers included and it will find & download trailers

That is exactly what it does. I even just tested it, in the off chance it was broken, but it works as described.

If it is not being added to the AIF, then you haven't set the AIF in Settings>Media>Music

alright thanks for the reply. I verified i do have that path set and there is artist artworks dumping in there, but there's also artworks dumping in the music folder too (artist logos and such). I only want album art to dump in my music folder along with the CD's, artist artwork goes elsewhere.
I did a cleanup a few days ago on all the clearart, logo's, etc artwork in my music folder and seems a few have come back...not sure why maybe something else is at play....idk. I did another cleanup just a few minutes ago, I'll run with this again, see how it goes and circle back if i need to. Thanks again.

Enable debug mode when you run it again and provide the log if it happens again. Which skin are you using? Titan Binge?
