XEM - AniDB scraper
#1
Hi,

I'm sorry for my english...

I use Kodi Leia 18.9 with LibreElec on Raspberry Pi 4

I have a folder with 213 anime and I have a problem with the XEM scraper with AniDB just for one of them : Nanatsu No Taizai

I use this scraper after tried TVDB wich found only 180/214 anime and the MOD that we can get on this forum.

I spent the whole afternoon on this problem without finding a solution.

All episodes are named like : The Seven Deadly Sins (2014) - S01E01 - The Seven Deadly Sins.mp4  / so : {n} ({y}) - {s00e00} - {t} / FileBot's format
All season are in a separated foder.

If I name the main folder "Nanatsu no taizai (2014)" the scraper finds "Sin: Nanatsu no taizai" (https://thetvdb.com/series/seven-mortal-sins) and if I name it "The seven deadly sins (2014)" it finds a TV series (https://thetvdb.com/series/de-syv-d-dssyndene) .
There is nothing in log about this folder...

Does anyone have an idea please?

I had no idea that the XEM scraper was still working. It won't be working for much longer, when TVDB shutdown all their current API versions and release v4 sometime in March/April 2021. All the current TVDB scrapers will be broken at that time, until TVDB release their own scraper.

As for your issue, I need a Debug Log that captures the problem.

Have you tried using a Parsing NFO file... https://kodi.wiki/view/NFO_files#Parsing_nfo

If you switch to the TVDB scraper, does it work for you?

@Karellen

Hi,

Yes XEM scraper still works for the moment, it even finds animes being broadcast.

However I did not know that there was going to be a change at TVDB. So I went back to my sources on TVDB and corrected the one that was not working.

For information I tried with an NFO file generated by the command line:

filebot -script fn: artwork.tvdb Desktop/NAS/Anime/'Seven Deadly Sins (2014)'

But it hadn't changed anything.

I had the same problem with TVDB but with Tohyo Ghoul this time, it couldn't be found correctly.

But the command line above works this time.

I thank you for your reply.

XEM scraper won't be updated so it will be marked as broken. The original developer of the scraper has not been active for a few years which is why I was surprised it still worked.

We are in discussions with TVDB for some pricing agreement for our users, but we don't know what form that will take yet. So you need to decide if you will stick with the new TVDB scraper to be released by TVDB or switch over to TheMovieDB.

Thanks Karellen for all of this informations.

I think I'll stay with TVDB.
I am not against paying a reasonable amount for a service and to funds this project.
