Hello,

A big thank you for this add-on!

Is it still usable with IPTV Simple (without IPTV Manager) as indicated on this wiki page https://github.com/f-lawe/plugin.video.o...-and-setup ?
I can't find the m3u8 and xml files? No "basic integration" setting?

Oops, I haven’t updated the wiki since the last major update.

No, indeed, basic integration has been removed in order to keep things light. Installation is now quite easier since you can find the addon on Kodi default repository, so for me that made the need for basic integration less important.

Is there any reason you’d prefer basic integration over IPTV Manager?

(open question, just for me to understand your needs, I may have missed something)

I understand the simplification.

Not really.
I'm just starting to discover the IPTV features in Kodi. So, I'm trying to understand the role of each of the layers involved (Kodi PVR & Live TV native, IPTV Simple PVR, IPTV Manager). I thought that with one less intermediary, I might understand faster! ;-)

The final installation will be for my parents who have poor TV reception and who are starting to get old. I know that I will have several IPTV sources. So I might need to "rework" or "merge" groups of channels to simplify a little (hide groups or channels, optional pay channels for example). So, access to m3u8 files is tempting to manipulate everything manually.

Maybe I won't need to get to that point. I started reading the IPTV Simple PVR documentation (the famous RTFM). Maybe everything is possible natively. I'll see...

In the meantime, I found the m3u8 file in the IPTV Manager directory in "userdata". I'll be able to study its structure... before looking at the EPG files that scare me even more at this moment! ;-)

Ok. The problem you'll face is that those m3u8 files are rebuilt on a regular basis, so any modification won't last. Moreover, URLs in it redirect to the different TV plugins, so you can't really bypass this layer.

For me the lightest build should be to find the TV streams actually used by your ISP. Free shares them, but for the other ones, I nerver found a way a properly get it. This is the "why" I got to this plugin, redirecting the web TV streams instead of the IPTV streams.

IPTV Manager is "just" a standardised way to transfer data from TV plugins to IPTV Simple PVR. It also allows you to merge streams from different plugins into one single list, used by IPTV Simple PVR.

Feel free to send a PM if you want to dig a bit deeper into that stuff.
