Linux Visualizations on Ubuntu 20.04
#1
Hi,

I'm running Kodi 18.9 at boot with no window manager. On a machine with Ubuntu 20.04 installed, kernel 5.4.0-66-generic.

I recently tried to get music visualizations working with no success. Followed this procedure https://kodi.wiki/view/Ubuntu_binary_add-ons and all visualization add-ons do install with no errors.
However in Kodi, when I try to enable the add-ons they all give a "ERROR: Add-on 'visualization.projectm' is not compatible with Kodi" message and stay disabled. I tried all the available visualization add-ons at apt-get: fishbmc, goom, projectm, shadertoy, spectrum and waveform. I do have the official stable ppa installed as well.

Any ideas on how to solve this?

Thanks in advance,
Pedro

if you use the PPA, you must have kodi v19, which the addons require

That was it, upgraded kodi to v19.0 and it now works as supposed to.

Thanks!
