Mimic-LR is now in the main Kodi repository (for Matrix/Nexus)

It has the following additions from the old Mimic:

• a number of fixes and updates, including some updates for Matrix
  
• some new music visualization screens
  
• some extras for touch-screen support
  
• some more advanced music icon related features (like the ability to tag Quadraphonic, and other multi-channel music with relevant icons)
  
• ability to put in custom icons for genres and sources (for when you want to view your music library by Source, or tag your media with custom genres or tags, or just plain want to use your own icons
  
• ability to display the actor/role image, instead of a generic actor image (like the images you see in tvdb)
  
• support for my weather.noaa plugin
  
• various other tweaks that I felt I wanted...

That looks like fallout from change to the definition of "thumb" and/or "icon" that was made in Matrix.  LowList pulls the right thumb in for episodes.  I'll have to take a look at List view and update it.

Is there some switch or is it a bug, that if I select "Poster" as Art for the widget of my main menu item, I get just "thumbs" on my main menu?

The line in the xml of the addon look like this :

Based on what you're showing , it appears the video-favorites plugin just generates a simple favorites list.  In that case,
the image used for favorites is always going to be the "thumb=" value referenced in the favorite item from favorites.xml.  Other lists may contain multiple images (poster+thumb+landscape+etc) in the results, but favorites would only have 1, so it will always fall back to that image.

The "art" option is really more about the layout, rather than just which image it displays.
The "poster" view is the image (assumed to be a poster, so presented with poster aspect ratio) with the plot/summary/description next to it.  Favorites don't have descriptive text available to populate it, so "poster" isn't a useful choice for the favorites.  The image is not going to take more space in the box, it's going to be scaled into that image space on the left, and leave room for the [missing in your case] text next to it for that layout.

You may find that Landscape or Fanart would be a better art layout option for the images you are wanting to use in the widget

Ok, someone delete the files. Now, i haven t A Backup from Kodi 18.9. That Was my last Client.

In the left corner missed the Information how many addons in the list or which kodi Version is running under System Information as an example.

Thank You for the quick resposne. I understand these options now clearly.

I could, in theory, rework the main-screen applets section, and separate the "layout" from the "image to show" into 2 different settings.
right now there are 3 actual layouts, There's the "poster" view, which 2 boxes across, with the poster on the left, and a description (usually the plot) filling up the bulk of the box.  There is also the "Thumbnail", which is a 3 across square layout.  And then the rest are 3 across shorter boxes (landscape aspect ratio), with 3 different image options.  I could make a 4th, which is the 2-across (like the poster view) but where it's just the image which takes up the whole box.  If I added that, and split the image choice from the layout in the settings, you could stick in fan-art, or landscape (or banner I suppose) and get something more like you seem to want.

Since You clarified in the above post whats what, i managed to get the layout I was looking for. For me, this 'issue' is closed, no need waisting Your time on this. Thanks once more for keeping alive this wonderfully customisable skin!

I'm not sure what you mean by "mimic red k19"  Are you saying you use Mimic (original)? Or are you using the Lyrebird fork?

I've fixed the favorites issue on the Lyrebird-Rmod fork that I've been maintaining.  I'm not aware of anyone still working on the original Mimic, or updating it for the latest kodi (Kodi 19, aka "Kodi Matrix").  Nothing in the kodi forums for anything but the Lyrebird-Rmod fork recently.
