channel logos - which is the best method?

Right now I'm using special:// paths via the m3u, which seems to load very nice. Always been curious which method is preferred/fastest. Channel icons are channel names with no spaces.

I use http:// paths via the m3u, which once cached will give the same result/speed as special:// paths. It just means I don't have to add the files to each device as you would when using special:// paths or scanning local logos via the option in PVR settings.

I'm getting ready to setup sharing with a few tvs in the house so I can watch where ever, I was just going to use path substitution to make it easy and save some space on a few of the under powered devices on the network too.
