There are EPG XZ or GZIP urls that have an xml compressed inside but the file doesn’t an extension dot xml (.xml).
 
For instance all the Rytec EPGs
 
http://www.xmltvepg.nl/rytecUK_SkyLive.xz
http://www.xmltvepg.nl/rytecUK_SportMovies.xz
 
And when this happen, PVR IPTV simple client can’t load the EPG data.
 
It is just a supposition but I think the reason is that the addon can’t recognize it as a xml file. If the XZ or GZIP have a xml extension, the data can be read.
 
If you could please solve it would be great because not only Rytec not have extension, there are more EPG providers that zip their xml files without extension.

The addon just decompresses the zip directly to text. It does not use or pay any attention to file extensions.

Can you provide a full debug log of an startup where you get this error?

Update: yesterday I don't know was doing because today the GZIP files that don't have a dot xml (.xml) extension are being loaded perfectly.

There are no issue, PVR IPTV Simple Client is working as expected related with this topic.
