Solved Screensaver cannot be switched off
#1
Hello Kodi-Friends,

I am new to this forum and hope you can help me with a question. Sorry if this question was already mentioned before but I did not find anything with the forum search.

OK, I use the actual release of Kodi (19.1) on an Android TV Philips 65OLED803. I love to play music and show the lyrics on parties. So far so good. The problem is that after around 2-3 minutes the screensaver of the TV (not Kodi) takes over and blacks the screen.
I tried all possible setups (TV and Kodi) to deactivate that… without success. Probably the TV „thinks“ there is no incoming signal?

How can I change that?

In Kodi 17/18 that did not happen.

Thank you in advance

I think you need to set a Kodi one if you don't want the TV one to kick in.

Thank you Hitcher,

I tried that also. Does not work either.
Maybe I have to install an older version :-(

It would be useful if you shared your workaround for others who might have the same issue.

Yes of course!
This might really be useful (I searched some hours for a solution or at least for a workaround myself).

Do this:
- Switch off automatic Android updates (otherwise it will be overwritten with the next update).
- Deinstall the "Built-In Chromecast" Updates

Maybe you have to reboot afterwards (I hadn't to do this).

Greetings
