v19 No update to Kodi 19.1 on Microsoft Store for Windows 10
#1
Kodi 19.1 was released 3 weeks ago, but the update is still missing from Microsoft Store on Windows 10.

Is this delay normal? I don't remember it took so long in the previous releases.

19.1 hasn't been released on UWP yet as an issue was found just before release which was a blocker for UWP (access to the repo for addon install failed).

This is currently being worked on, and will probably be for the 19.2 release.

It's not available for Xbox but should be available on Win10.

@DaveBlake did you do the Store upload

However there been a crash issue with 19.1 so it might be a good idea to skip it for Store rollout.

Builds for Windows 10 of all Kodi releases are availlable imediately from our downloads page, and can be used whenever the user wants to do so. To soften the impact  for users that chose to get Kodi from the MS Store and have autoupdate on, I often delay the rollout to the store for a week to allow any issues to shake out first, and the publishing process is often slow too. So it is normal for there to be a delay.

However on investigation the publication process has gone wrong! Indeed v19.1 is not currently on the MS Store for any platform. Perhaps since there are cashes that is fortunate. We will investigate further and let users know our plans as soon as we have one.

Sorry that the version checker addon will keep telling you a new version is availlable when one isn't, but the addon is neither platform nor publishing source sensitive.

It might be due to regional difference, many updates are roll out according to the country or regions. Change the it and if you get the update.

For Windows 10 the v19.1 update was submitted to the Store but it seems something went wrong in the verifcation process so it never pushed out to users. However shortly after release of v19.1 a issue was discovered on certain setups using the normal Windows desktop exe version receiving bad network discovery message could cause Kodi to completely crash, thus I believe it has now been decided to withhold v19.1 from the Store as we don't want to risk Kodi crashing for Store users. The crash issue has been fixed so there should no problem with Windows 10 Store will receiving the v19.2 release when it comes.

YOu need to wait for Microsoft to approve and accept it into the store. Can take up to a week.

Karellen, is there any advantage of using the Microsoft Store version instead of just download Kodi from your download page and just install it?

Except for automatic updates, none at all.
