The idea of combining multiple iptv/DVB streams into one makes me wonder if the concept shouldn't be extended eventually to cover more sources.
TV stations have media centres where you have movies, newscasts, their own tv series episodes.
You have streaming servies like Netflix, Hulu, Disney, Peacock, Paramount+, HBO Max and many more.
Instead of having to know which service offers which movie, have a common interface where plugins can hook into.
The user can scroll through the various category ribbons with preview pictures and trailers, enter whatever she is intrested in in a common search whose results are deduplicated and the service with the best quality and lowest cost is automatically chosen based on what plugins the user has active.
If a payment method is available, the movie of the day can also be immediately bought/rented for the night without having to switch to the computer to interfere with the service shop system.
You could integrate with 3d party tools to keep an eye on episodes to watch and those you already have watched. It could notify you when one of your streaming services has a new season available.
