Hello,

My SRT subtitle font is kind of too much Bold even in font style setting of "normal" in KODI 19.1,
Any one know where is the core file to define the font style and which tag is control the bold, thank you very much. 

PS. I think the options of font style of normal, bold, italics is not enough.

Why not use a thinner TTF font altogether? AFAIK, .srt only supports the basic styles. Anything else, you will need to go with ASS/SSA or some other format.

I try to use light font to play it but KODI seems like set a heavy black outline on the font as default even I choose font style of normal.
I want it show the font's original style, do you know where is the core file to define the black outline? thank you.

if there is no way to edit outline width till now, please ignore me.

We currently don't support subtitle outline settings, perhaps that is something that can added in Kodi Nexus.

I'm not a developer myself, so others will have to point to the correct code.

In Kodi 20 has been improved many aspects of subtitle styles
you can try test it with nightly builds
