Ever since I updated to latest matrix version the scan takes either too long or it crashes. Don't fix what isn't broken please.

Sure, as if we intentionally put in regression bugs just to annoy others. Right?
Such things just happen. If programming was that easy, we'd probably never gotten beyond version 3 or 4.
BTW, your version of you telling us "it doesn't work" is not helping. Providing a full debug log (wiki) of your Kodi setup's shenanagans could help.
