I'm using the latest Kodi 19 installed on my Android Xiaomi Mibox, which connected via HDMi into Yamaha RXV4A, connected with 5 channels.
I confgured my kodi as Passthrough, and my receiver s configured as 'Straight'.

When I play a movie with 7.1 channels, I hear no sound at all. I guess I would need to decode the audio into 5 channels, right?

If so, where to configure this?

What is the source audio codec, and what 'passthrough' have you enabled?

I have a 5.0 sound system and 5.1 and 7.1 stuff plays fine with my AVR doing the 7.1/5.1->5.0 fold-down of 5.1/7.1 PCM/FLAC, Dolby True HD and DTS HD MA soundtracks.
