Hi,

I have about 90 Gb of music and 50Gb of pictures.

While indexing the music files, the indexing process stops at the same point in time and hangs. When I shuffle the folders, so that the indexing would be done in a different order, it still hangs after the same amount of time, although during different files.

The slideshow function seems to work fine, but when using the slideshow as a screensaver, it fails to turn on. When pushing the preview button for the screensaver, the box hangs for a couple of seconds, without producing anything, and nothing happens. Choosing a folder with fewer files works fine.

xbmc: 2008-06-30 as the dash, installed with the above.

200Gb HD, Evox 8+ Bios on a modchip.

Any solutions?

Always start by updating the the latest XBMC SVN; google "T3CH"

Please post a debug log in you still have problems after that.

you're probably running out of memory. the xbox only has 64 megs of ram. enable debug logging. it'll be very clear in the log if this the case..

Assuming it is, don't scan your music from your "root" location. you'll have to scan from your subdirs to minimize the memory requirements.

and the same is probably happening if you're trying to run a recursive slideshow from your pictures "root". there's just too many items to index into memory. and again, produce a debug log to be sure.
