Hi there,

My addon won't update because of a dependency error.

I know there were some changes with addons only updating from official repos.

So I have the dependency in the installed and enabled repo.

My addon is in another repo but it can't see the dependency in the other repo so wont update. I can install the dependency manually and then the addon will update.

Do I have to house the repo with the dependencies inside my own repository for it to update?

Im just trying to understand whats going on?

To receive meaningful assistance you will need to provide a full debug log.

If you are using the Basic Method, then ensure the following is applied...
1.Enable debugging in Settings>System Settings>Logging,
2.Restart Kodi
3.Replicate the problem.
4.Upload the log to Kodi Paste Site manually or use the Kodi Logfile Uploader. (wiki) With either method post the link to the log back here.

If you are using the Advanced Method ensure you have correctly created and applied the advancedsettings.xml file (wiki)

In both instances, you should see the word DEBUG throughout the log.

Note: Full logs only. No partial or redacted logs

God help you, OP, if you’ve any “unapproved” addons showing up in your log.

Ha ha. That’s why there’s no log attached
I found a work around anyway.

I think the issue is because the repo address is only accessible if you install from that repo. You can’t import dependencies.
