Solved Shield 2019 Pro Crashes
#1
Ahhhhh where do I start. I was using a MiBox 4k on wireless for years without issues and when I got a Nvidia shield pro 2019 I have issues where at random times when watching something from my server wireless it crashes. I thought it was my router and today just installed the Asus XT8 and same issue.

Can be 20 seconds or 7 mins into something and just stops.

Anyone else have the same issue. If I connect an ethernet cable it works perfectly. It's only Kodi that has an issue, Netflix and YouTube never missed a beat on wireless.

Perhaps your Shield is a bit allergic to your wireless router / access point ?
Otherwise, provide a debug log (wiki) just to be sure.

Ok ran a test this morning and the video stopped after 20 ish seconds. Then it ran for 27 mins then stopped and then ran for another 3 mins and stopped. It's so random as can run for a few seconds or 1/2 hour before stopping.

Grabbed a log file that hopefully will help

Code:

Did you already update to 9.0.2? Is this running official Nvidia Shield updates? It's an unusal name suffix if it's official.
Also, Kodi 19.4 is available via the Kodi Android Updater.

Code:

Having the "unknown field 36" error with the local database is a bit odd...
And apparently there is indeed a network problem, but it's so random. Can you check for a quieter wifi channel to use and lock it in your wifi access points? Or, any chance you could just use ethernet instead?

Running official Shield updates. I'll move the Wifi channel and see does that help. Was hoping to use wifi as moving house and will be a pain to run cable in the new place.

Ok I seem to have found a solution. I have Asus XT8 mesh network and I just placed one beside my Shield and connected it via cable. The Server was always hard wired to the main Asus box. They are still wireless linked but watched a few things yesterday and zero crashes.

Thanks for all the time and effort.
