Starting kodi webserver only (No GUI)
#1
Question
Hello!

Is there a way, to setup kodi so it starts without GUI (As I don't intend to watch anything on it) and make sure the webserver starts on it? I would like to startup the webserver on startup, but I suppose that part could be handled by systemd.
I have a raspberry pi 4B running Raspbian buster. Is it possible? Also, I want to be able to use advanced settings so I can specify that the database is in a remote location.
I just want to be able to connect to the webserver and trigger library updates.
Is GUI-less kodi even a thing? I've never used kodi on any form of linux.

Thank You

Kodi has no headless mode (although it's been talked about for many years).
You could have a pi running kodi, and not connect the display, but not so good if you want to use the Pi for other things.

Yeah I use it for other things rn. However, I found a docker container which has "headless-kodi". Just the webserver and all that stuff no gui. Its a fork which has been updated to support v19. Its pretty good, except I cant get it to work lol. Here's a link for people who come looking for this thread in the future.

I opened an issue on the repo in the hope that the maintainer would respond.
