I have downloaded the latest master version. How do I get it onto the LG so I can install it there?

Yeah, I was very surprised to see this problem being there still. I have LG OLED G3 TV, running webOS 8.3.0 (with firmware 03.30.74), and the Kodi version I installed first was Omega (20240606-9c2a48de). And yes, the audio/video unsync is present there very clearly, impossible to ignore. I tested many different videos that I have in my collection, from movies to TV shows and random short videos - all of them have this unsync issue when trying to play them in Kodi.

At the same time, none of the other applications installed on the TV have this problem. I tried YouTube, Twitch, Netflix, etc - all good. So it is really something "exclusive" to Kodi.

I probably could live with a manually specified audio offset, but as I soon discovered it needs to be adjusted for different videos, so while some are fine with 400 ms, others require changing it to 300 ms or a different value, which one can find only via trial-and-error, which kills all the joy and wastes a lot of one's time.

I did try to enable Audio Passthrough and with AC3 transcoding too, but that didn't help either, although I saw several users stating that it resolved the issue for them.

And then I tried to install the latest master version of Kodi (20240620-3d14ee65, to be precise), and in that one I noticed some more options in the Audio Passthrough section, so I enabled all of them, and good heavens that did help, so now I don't have the audio/video sync issue anymore. I am not sure which ones exactly did help, but it looks like all of them need to be enabled (so both the AC3 transcoding and the DTS things). Here's a photo of that settings section, just in case (sadly, couldn't make a proper screenshot - Kodi just captures a black screen for some reason, probably webOS doesn't let it to access window manager or something):

Is there now any way to block the screensaver? it´s really annoying watching a movie and Ambilight is shutting off

Hey guys I now have a transparent like darker retectangle converting like 1/6th of the left side of the screen only when watching Dolby vision with Kodi, any idea why?

Interesting only happens when video size is set to "normal" and not "original size"

Anyone else has been logged out and lost their Kodi installation?
It's a bit annoying.

I'm 99.9% sure you of all people already are aware of this but if the question isn't asked then assumptions will be made.

Have you reset your developer key time (can't remember the exact name), as it only lasts for 1000 hours and if you don't reset it prior to it expiring you lose any app installs you may have made.

It's not the session expiring. It logged me out because of new T&C.
I logged back in and developer mode was disabled, so when I reenabled it the app was already gone.

Ahh I accepted the new T&C's last night but didn't actually try and open Kodi or the Developer App so I may have the same situation. I'll check once I finish work and report back if I have a different experience

I can confirm this did not happen to me: LG C3 55" latest software version (the one with the new T&C's), accepted them. It did make me log back in to update some apps I have installed but it did NOT log out my developer session and it was still running with 433 hours remaining on the current session and Kodi is still there as expected.

In my case, Kodi was deleted the first time this happened, but not the second. The difference is that I didn't pay any attention to the message and turned off the TV eventually while immediately logging in again after seeing it once more a couple of days ago. Probably best to do that right away if you get the notification. In any case, I hope LG doesn't pull this stunt to often anymore as it seems completely unnecessary to me ... just have users confirm the new terms and log them out if they don't?

@oldpainless: That's interesting. We do not interact with the settings menu in any way. What webOS version is that happening on?

I found that when playing a file that meets the following conditions, kodi interacts with the "Aspect Ratio Settings" in the LG TV menu, and uses the setup(gear key) of the LG remote control to bring up the TV settings interface, and Figure 1 appears. At this point, the "Aspect Ratio Settings" option is grayed out and unavailable.

Conditions that trigger the graying out of the "Aspect Ratio Settings":

As long as the "Display aspect ratio" in the red box is not 16:9 (see Figures 2 and 3 for information), but something like 1.xx:1, 2.xx:1, the "Aspect Ratio Settings"(Figures 1) option of LG TV is grayed out and is not available.

If you use the TV's built-in player to play the same file, the "Aspect Ratio Settings" option is white and you can go to the next level menu as normal.

Oh yes, it pretty much does struggle with that. So once I jump to a different part of the movie, it takes some seconds to catch up and "normalize", and after that it plays fine. But if I do this way too often, Kodi eventually freezes and crashes.

Also, I was too early to celebrate and pronounce that the unsync issue was resolved by allowing Audio Passthrough, because some videos still have quite bad sync issues (probably depends on audio codec? One video in particular had AAC-LC).

And even those videos that I thought are fine now - there is still a very-very little but noticeable unsync, like 50 ms or less. I mean, without Audio Passthrough enabled the unsync is very bad, so allowing it does improve the situation significantly, but unfortunately does not eliminate it completely.

I don't know, I guess I'll have to abandon the idea of running Kodi on the TV and just get a proper external box, such as Vero V or some other.
Too bad, the happiness was so close
You can set offset audio to -375 for all videos. It has solved the issue and audio is synced. I know, it's annoying make this job for all videos, one by one

I installed Kodi on my tv:

Device: 49SM8200PLA
Firmware version: 05.40.45
webOS version: 4.10.0
OTA ID: HE_DTV_W19P_AFADABAA
SoC: k5lp

But it's not compatible as reported here. Reading here seems in another project resolved the issue, so we can hope...

People that had installed on the same kind of TV, for what feature use Kodi on it?
