This is a weird one I hope someone can help with (or at least also experiences).

When navigating around menus using the controller, it will randomly skips the next menu item and jump the subsequent. For example if I was on the first menu item and press down, Kodi completes skips the second item and selects the third.

Some more details:

1. This doesn't happen in the dashboard or any other app.
   
2. The controller is a week old. Also happens with my old controller.
   
3. Doesn't happen when using the IR remote.
   
4. It's not like it's a double press being triggered as the missed item isn't highlighted at all before highlighting the next item. It's like Kodi forgets the missed item even exists.
   
5. Happens in all skins.
   
6. I set the deadzone of controllers way up and still happened.
   
7. The Xbox controller test detects all buttons working correctly with no double inputs.

This has always been a problem I don't know why it's not been fixed.

Does it happen with the D pad as well?

Not on the d pad. It just skips with the thumbstick.

There is also a delay on any response when you've just loaded kodi.

This issue have been around on xbox since the xbox version appeared.   Using the xbox controller either lags or skips when navigating the gui. There is no lag when using a keyboard.
