Are light gun games with wiimote possible in kodi?

Has anyone had any experience setting up wiimotes for light gun games, specifically in linux using the kernel driver? I had a quick play and managed to get the buttons to register as a controller, but go nothing for the IR pointing.

I have a Wiimote I've been wanting to try, but I'm not sure the voltage needed for the IR bar. Do you know what voltage should be used to power it?

https://rolandtapken.de/blog/2017-07/mod...wer-supply provides some info on modding the Wii sensor bar to use alternative power sources. I just bought a cheap USB powered 3rd party bar on eBay for testing.

FYI, as mentioned there are third-party USB-powered Wii sensor bar you can buy, or you could alternative also buy very inexpensive third-party battery-powered "wireless" Wii sensor bar.

Search for example "wireless Wii sensor bar" or "wireless Wii sensor bar" on Amazon where you find those for about $10 (US-dollar) each:

The reason I started looking at WiiMotes was because I have some to test. If they can be made to work I might be inclined to look at more specialised solutions like the aimtracks and such.

I have some WiiMotes too that I'd like to try out, but my Wii is kaput and I need to power the "sensor" bar externally. Do you know what voltage/current the sensor bar takes?

The link I provided in an earlier post suggests it can be powered by ~5v though the sensor bar port on the back of the Wii can drive 12v.

The original Wii Sensor Bar runs on 7,5 volts originally from what I could find, so the best would be to use a higher voltage power supply (like example 12-volt or 15-volt) and use that in combination with a buck converter if want to power it externally, but a 5-volt from a USB charger should also work according to others who tried it

However, the simplest is as previously mentioned just to get a third-party USB-powered Wii sensor bar you can buy or alternatively buy a third-party battery-powered "wireless" Wii sensor bar. Both are inexpensive andn you can find them if search for example "wireless Wii sensor bar" or "wireless Wii sensor bar" on Amazon where you find those for about $10 (US-dollar) each or less:
