Not much to say expect that DTS HRA, MA and X are passing through now, and Dolby Plus, TrueHD and ATMOS, which were working before this latest firmware.

I'm using the Maven Kodi 20 fork as it supports Dolby Vision, but I believe the nightly official Kodi 21 does as well.

fun fact @hdmkv
at this very moment on my gen 3 jellyfin is doing passthrough 8 channel atmos and its perfectly in sync without mucking around with any settings
its utilizing the built-in exoplayer to do it

and it seems to be doing dolby-vision as well, i was sure my tv didnt support it since it didnt work in kodi (green hues and all that ugliness)

just thought you might like to know

Hmm is the "built-in" exoplayer the same as this? If 24p + passthru are both working w/it, then it's likely possible to set it up as the external player for Kodi (until the internal audio synch is fixed).

no its not a standalone app on the firetv, api backend for native android apps

Okay, stupid question, how do I use ExoPlayer on FireTV? I see APK's for it when I Google, but I assume I shouldn't be installing an APK for it?

Doh! Download and use this player?

yes thats the client but jellyfin is a whole client/server suite like plex or emby

i already had it setup for my tablets and phones but i used kodi with the jellyfin addon on the tv for a little more integration with the rest of my services (prime video, hulu, disney+, paramount+)

it does 90% of kodi's work on the firetv minus integration, live transcoding with hardware acceleration, there are some caveats ive found but the bonus of having passthrough and dolby-vision kodi doesnt do outweigh them

the firetv is blocking screenshots during media playback so i had to grab a screenshot from scrcpy just as i exited playback before the overlay reset, but, you can see on the left "codec: dolby-vision"
(audio always shows vorbis but i can attest that when starting playback the display on the av scrolls "dolby atmos")

Have you tried the 80Mbps or 100Mbps video with TrueHD/DTS MA? how is the performance?

Also what is the firmware you are running on? seems like tech page is not updated yet. https://developer.amazon.com/docs/fire-t...-cube.html

anyone know if it stretches the screen properly in kodi 2nd gen only stretched it verically making skewing the picture making it almost unwatchable

Also could you please share a channel check with 7.1.4 if you have a DTSX supported AVR and speakers. Because i have also made mistake in past looking at DTS_HD codec. it does work in kodi however id does not correctly passthrough. I dont see DTSX symbol on my sounbar nor plays on correct speaker.

top firing speakers are not activated on those channel it plays normal front or back also in case of the 7.2 SL & SR channels plays on rear speaker.
