Hi,  

Used Universal Movie Scraper for years with hardly any issues.  It stopped working and I tried to switch to others, but I haven't really found one that is super reliable at picking up the movies like universal did.  Half of the time I have to go to files, find the movie, and delete most of the file name for something to scrape, never used to happen before.  So for a average user of Kodi, what is the best scraper to pick for movies and if different, what should I pick for TV shows?

UMS works perfectly for everything except the title (where you can use tmdb for titles). What's wrong with it?

@Karellen, UMS is faster and still more feature rich compared to what you have referenced, but hey, best in subjective...

whats the difference between "the tvdb(new)" and "tvdb v4"? which is better?

TVDB (new) uses the old TVDB v2 API and both the scraper and API are no longer supported.
TVDB v4 is the new scraper created by TVDB themselves and uses their latest TVDB v4 API.

You don't have to, unless you see something wrong. Though the <episodeguide> will be an old format and you might have trouble adding new episodes to those tv shows using the old scraper.
But you should change to v4 for future scrapes.

the only series (tvdb new) mixes the MAGNUM P. I from the 80 s that I want with the new one! I ll try the v4

well the v4 found only 4 series out of the 13 i have.tvdb -new finds them all!(excepr magnum p.i that shows the new magnum

Provide a Debug Log that captures that. I might see what the problem is.

after 2nd rescan it's ok. except again Magnum P. I the old series. it shows the new one from 2018.this happens with all scrappers so maybe it's a name thing?

i renamed ALL episodes of the old 80's magnum p.i series according to imdb but still tmdb(new) shows the new magnum p.i series scrapes!

Thanks, but no it does not help. I am not interested in what the old and unsupported scraper is doing. I want to see what the problem is with the correct scraper. You should be using TVDB v4

Why? You are not using an IMDB scraper. You are using TVDB. So you need to refer to TVDB site.
