What is the best M3U List type for Simple Client running on RPI with Coreelec?

With a commercial grade, legal provider the transport won't matter too much.   HLS might be better dealing with poor networks.

CE doesn't support the RPi.

Correct, you will need LibreElec if you have a RPi.

I have no idea what M3U standard and advanced are. Simplelist I have never heard of.
