Currently, passthrough options only include AC3, DTS, TrueHD, and DTS-HD. Kodi converts DSD to PCM.

An option to pass through DSD via USB to a DSD capable DAC w/ USB input would be a fantastic feature.

Is this doable? Is this dependent on the hardware running Kodi in any way?

you could perhaps include

1. some use cases, what albums were/are being released in this format
2. developers will typically only develop for things they own and therefor care about so which usb devices is this supposed to work on

nothing suggests anyone is actively using this technology and the spec is from 2004 so if this is the case and there are only a few albums it probably would be wise to mitigate expectations
