@Lunatixz,

Thanks for looking at these problems. No continuous play has been spotted, thanks for that. Kodi does the EPG, so I will contact them, Thank You.

As for the build time and the loss of content, wow, Only me. How, I did a full clean build of Kodi, and then installed PTVL, I did not realise I had changed the Pagination to 50 while setting up, but it is not like that at the moment.
The only things I can think of is the Skin Change, As I use Aeon Nox Silvo for its use of Fan Art, and more importantly, I am using the original Playlists, and PTVL channels, Copying the backup folder over to Recover the channels.

So, Once again, I will do a complete rebuild of Kodi and PTVL, A complete fresh build from scratch with no changes at all and see if that's why I have build problems.
Again last night, I tried v0.5.0. With 80 Channels, 75% of which are YouTube, Over 90 minutes to Build, then of course it started updating again, and with the Channel guide jumping here to there, impossible to use.
I switched back to 0.4.9p this morning, which did the original channel build in about 30mins, but then updating again and jumping channels..... The system is unusable.

So, Off for a complete rebuild, I'll let you know.

Where is the log with 50% of the channels not building? Where are your channels.json examples that take hours to build?

I do appreciate your continued use of this project; however, for over a year you have bogged me down with a lot of uncorroborated issues and no supporting logs.

We are going to leave things as I've mentioned previously. In the future you'll only get a reply from me if your issue are accompanied by BOTH a debug log and your channels configuration. Thank you.

@Lunatixz,

Thanks Again For The Reply, I understand what you are saying, I Find a lot of things due to Daily use of PTVL, most times my fault I guess, and for the most, when I don't provide a log, It's because I don't really see it as a fault, more a bug, and I expect the issue to show up on everyones build, and easy to see. Obviously I am wrong here, and I should follow procedure and provide a log, So, my bad, sorry again.

Just as a positive note, Something Finally sunk into my brain, and I managed to get a STRM file to work. So that should go along way to solving some of the problems I have been having.

Ok, all that aside, here is the Channels disappearing fault, This is totally random, and could be any channel, but only on a Channel update, the next time PTVL is used, say the next day after a full channel rebuild. Supplied Log, Settings, Channels and a Video showing the fault occur.

PS. As A side note, I Finally Figured out the STRM file. Added it as a Movie, and It is added and plays from Kodi just as If it were a movie. So I added it to a Playlist, and that worked fine. Played the Playlist from Kodi, that worked fine. But When I try to add the Playlist to PTVL, I get an Invalid Path Error. I Include the STRM file for your advice.

Thanks for that, I will await the next update.
If I could ask just one more question, as I said, I have FINALLY figured out STRMs (Didn't that take a long time to sink in). Can you please advise how to add them to PTVL. I have tried several different ways, however I keep getting a "Invalid Path" error. The attached STRM above is added to my movie Library and will work fine from there. I can now even add the STRM to a Kodi Playlist, but adding the Playlist to PTVL also gives me the Invalid Path error.
Thanks Again

@OzDrDj Your STRM is incorrect, you are pointing to a directory (YouTube playlist) of videos; STRM's are meant to link to an individual video. If the playlist has 25 videos, you should have 25 strms all with its own nfo and strm file pointing to the correct path for playback.

BTW I told you all of this over a year ago:

Ok, thanks for that, I understand that. I did think the STRM was working in a different way. Obviously, making a STRM for every video is pointless, and downloading every video from each you tube channel I watch would mean lots of storage even if it were only temporary.
I did think the STRM playlist was stored locally, as when I start one up, specially on the larger channels such as Inside Edition with a lot of short clips, it takes almost a minute to start, I would have guessed it was Parsing a Playlist, as once that is done the videos play one after another, in random, very quickly.
and I though I was almost there. Oh well. Back to the old method.
Thanks Again Anyhow
Oz.

The YouTube playlist you have in the strm needs to be configured as a PseudoTV channel.

Also, it isn't pointless, as I've said there are many projects Kodi and other that can generate STRMs, and nfos.

I am guessing that relates to something else that generates STRMs and Nfos. I looked at that link, but I think that's a bit above my paygrade.

I would like to request if possible that you can add the functionality for STRMs as In that playlist in the future. Just being able to add that Playlist to its own channel would be lovely. I would expect that if it is possible it will be a long way down the list.

For the moment I can just add the playlist in order in a Channel to PTVL. When I want to go right into a channel, I just have My playlist as Movies in their own Genre which I can just play from Kodi Movies.

Thanks Anyway for all your help, I'll keep watching for updates.

Cheers

Strms are meant to be shortcuts to media, not paths to content. Are you sure the YouTube plugin after you login doesn't offer shortcuts to your playlists and/or channels?

The way you're using strms is not how they were designed to be used and the way you are configuring channels is out of the realm of this project. Each EPG cell is meant to represent media not a playlist...

Hello Lunatixz,
I understand what you mean, the strm being a shortcut to media. I followed the second wiki I found which related more to the youtube addon. and created the strm you see in the above zip ( https://www.ozdrdj.com/TheWhyFilesCollection(2024).rar
The only options given from this strm is how I would like to play them, forward, backward or random, which however can be configured in the strms url with the addition of "&order=shuffle"
So, somehow, The youtube plugin is downloading the channels complete playlist, shuffling it around and making it's own playlist, then playing them one by one. Perfect.
So I get that each cell is a program, not a playlist, but the obvious ideal outcome would be to take the Downloaded playlist from the youtube addon, drop each url into seperate cells, in the channel, and away goes PTVL.
I know this all sounds simple to say, and no doubt is either tricky or very very tricky to do, and maybe you could look at this in the future.
At the moment to get things working, consists of everyday, adding more content to the top of each of my created YouTube Playlists from each of my favourite channels, thus when PTVL adds the channel, it parses new content from the top of the list, which fills the guide with different content everyday.
The other alternative is adding a channel, where content is grabbed from the same spot in the same list each day and thus the channels always have the same content each day which gets boring very quickly.
This is all I am trying to overcome, and it looks like making my own playlists adding new content to the top of the lists each day is the only way for now, although it is getting tedious and time consuming now also. Ahhh, one day, automation.
Anyway, I thank you for your continued efforts.
Cheers
