Kodi says Failed: ... Unsupported protocol while scanning from WebDAV server
#1
When I update my library from my WebDAV server (with basic/digest authentication enabled and user:password set) it gives me unsupported protocol error.

Later in the log, you'll see, I removed user and password and went anonymous, and there was no unsupported protocol error.

Here is the log: https://paste.kodi.tv/bidemibaho.kodi

I'm using wsgidav to host WebDAV server on termux for android.

Can you try on your end and see if this happens on your end too, please?

Designed to run behind any WSGI compliant server. I didn't see Kodi as a supported WsgiDAV client.
Termux is an Android terminal emulator, this is a windows support forum for Kodi.

If the set-up works fine without the username/password, I don't see the issue other than security.
if you wish me to move this post to another area of the forum, please make that suggestion.

Note: I've removed the 'bug' declaration, as this appears to be a networking issue.

But Kodi does support WebDAV, WSGIDAV creates a WebDAV server and I'm connecting to it via Kodi.

You seem to misunderstand. "Termux for android" was the information I gave to clarify how I'm running the server; it is not the issue.
Kodi on the other hand, the Windows app, is having an issue. And it is definitely a bug. Why can you scan media without any issue anonymously but can't do it with authentication? Don't you see the issue here?

Exactly. I do not want to run my server where anyone can write. I don't see why you want to avoid it, it's clearly something wrong with Kodi here.

No. I'm having this issue in Windows Kodi, not in Android Kodi.

Are you sure it's not a Kodi issue? If not, what is the issue, and what do I have to do to fix this error? I'm not an expert but I can tell something is not right and it's on Kodi's side.

Thanks for your understanding.

Windows and Kodi work fine, and it's to the credit of developers, that networking is a possibility. The fact that you have this working is great, but I don't see enough interest in your set-up that this security issue should be a priority in the field of networking. Suffice to say Syncing and sharing (wiki) consider an alternate way of handling your connections. Suggest an SMB (wiki) connection or look for WebDAV server support.

Perhaps others with specific knowledge can chime in here, Keeping in mind Kodi the software program for home theatre enthusiasts; it's not part of the development team to fix networking issues across multiple platforms.
