XBMC Live doesn't start over Intel DG45FC motherboard
#1
Hi,
I boot the XBMC Live disc and start it into the Installation mode and I install it correctely. When I start it, load the graphical server, show the X cursor and then crash. Immediately after reload the graphical system, show the X cursor and recrash. Like a loop.

The same thing into the live session with intel, nvidia and ati options...

What can be?

Thanks

G45 needs much newer Intel gfx drivers + X.org + Kernel so we need to update all that before G45 will work with Live

But i will be done smootly? Or will be done in the far future? I ask it 'cause I need to do a Media Center for my society, and I have to know the roadmap..

Another questions:
-Where is a public roadmap of the Live?
-Where are some documentation about how the Live is made?

thanks

Atlantis+1 will support G45 as then we will move to Ubuntu Interpid.

If you need DG45FC support you need to go ubuntu interpid or Windows for now.
Cheers,
Tobias

As far as I now there is no other way for Live at this moment. It's based on Ubuntu 8.04 so no G45 support. So yes, it might take a while before it will work. Use The Windows and Linux solution for the time being!

I reckon we might never run pre-Beta releases of Linux on XBMC Live, not when thinking of all the motherboards got wasted on a6 ubuntu, my Intel DG45FC included :S

Anyway, after a return to the shop it runs wonderfull on interpid daily.

Cheers,
Tobias.

Hi,

It seems this threat is several months old and I was hoping all the issues were solved by the 8.10 release but it doesn't for me.
I try loading the Live CD (8.10 or 8.x beta) but whatever choice I make it stops loading xbmc. It all stops at a blank screen with a blinking cursor.
While pressing Alt-F1 the message "Loading, please wait" appears.

I'd try to install ubuntu 8.10 which is working smoothly.
This is my setup:
Intel DG45FC with E8400 proc. and 2GB memory
4GB esata flash disk
Bios is upgraded and all setting to default.
Screen is attached by DVI

Please advice.. Nod

I´ve used the new beta build on my DG45FC successfully
http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=46144
With intel driver at boot.

The old Atlantis stable does NOT however include DG45FC drivers.

Just wondering... Should HDMI audio be working with the dg45fc and the latest live release? And has anybody gotten suspend to work? Seems to just power off my board...

No HDMI audio in latest live. Although Video works.

(Ubuntu have failed to include latest alsa in jaunty which means it might not be in next version of live either, bad of Ubuntu IMHO)
