Vsync no longer works with Atlantis 8.10
#16
I've tried turning off the forcedswapsettings by setting it to 0.0, and this seems to improve the playback a little. I think the vsync problem is now reduced by 50%, so it's still far from perfect (read: unacceptable).

Also, besides from the choppy playback, it's not fluent at all. I assume this is a related issue with the aobve mentionedStare Even a simple xvid tvrip of CSI Miami (in SD, not even HD) doesn't look as fluent as it should be on a 2.1GHz core2duo Sad Even my modded Xbox does a better job playing back such files.

I've also got a GMA3100 showing tearing due to vsync. No fiddling around with the drivers works.

I ended up testing out Rev16026 which works perfectly for playback. No Vsync issues there at all it seems.

So if Rev16026 works, can it really be only a driver problem?

I'm running xbmc on a laptop with a Intel 945 Express gfx card. I enabled the debug log and noticed that "23:09:06 T:3636 M:1514307584 WARNING: VSYNC ignored by driver, enabling framerate limiter." comes up everytime when fireing up xbmc.. could this be the reason why video plays choppy on intel cards?

Desktop runs at 60Hz and tv is set to run at 100Hz (can only choose 50 or 100 in the tv config). Beta 2 goes at around 50Hz and the new builds run at 92-95Hz and then videoplayback become choppy..

Anyway.. respect to the devs for doing such a great job!

For anybody who is able to press "/" twice to get vsync working properly again, can you test out CapnBry's new build?

http://forum.xbmc.org/showpost.php?p=249...stcount=12

It solves the problem some people were having where the desktop refresh rate was being ignored, and I am hoping it will solve the Intel vsync problem as well for at least the G35 and G45.

After a lot of fiddling around with drivers, editing xml files and configuring codecs, I decided to give up on Atlantis final. I'm back to beta 2 now, which doesn't appear to have this vsync problem. All works perfectly now Smile

can you point me to a download resource for beta2? or tell me which svn revision number it has?

downloads on xbmc.org point to 8.10 atlantis only.

edit: never mind, i found a source. downloading right now.

Yeahhh !! Beta 2 solved the Vsync issue with my Intel DG45FC motherboard.
Many thanks all, and now, i'm waiting for a later release that will solve the issue, stay on Beta 2 at this moment ! Wink

Bump in the hopes this will be fixed sooner rather than later. Like the others, I'm stuck using Beta 2.

I see all these links in this thread but which one is beta 2? As I am having problems with vsync as well.

Edit: I found it here

http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles..._id=283294

it's for i386 architecture, is that right one for windows? it's just under 80MB

I took a ticket on the bug tracker.
http://trac.xbmc.org/ticket/5484

Hope that will be solved in the next svn build.

There's already a ticket for the problem:
http://trac.xbmc.org/ticket/5202

It affects all Intel chipsets, not just G45. Don't bother trying the "solution" listed in trac as it doesn't work and you will only be successful in wasting your time.
