Updating Skins
#1
I am sorry if I missed this in a previous thread. I did a search but could not find anything.

I am trying to update MediaStream Skin on XBMC Live. I downloaded it and copied it to the skins folder on the USB drive. When I go into XBMC there are two instances of MediaStream under skins and it will only let me select one.

The part I am not understanding is in the skins folder there are only MediaStream and Aeon both of which were copied by me. So where are the other ones coming from?

Thanks for the help.

You have the skins distributed with Atlantis in the main XBMC directory /usr/share/xbmc/skin; Mediastream is one of them, so if you place a copy in the USB drive you have two, the old and the new one. Either remove the one in /usr/share/xbmc/skin or replace it with the new V1.0.

When I try and delete the mediastream skin from /usr/share/xbmc/skin it says that permission is denied. I am using FileZilla.

I login as xbmc with password xbmc on port 22.

What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

I am a linux newb sorry for asking a stupid question.

I found the answer. You have to use sudo to get root access and then you can add and delete files.
