Mac mini DualCore 1.83ghz plays all slow
#1
Hello.

I have searched the entire forum trying to find others with the same problems, but did not find any, so hopefully someone can help out.

My setup:
- Mac Mini Core 2 duo 1.83 ghz, 1gb Ram
- DVI-HDMI connection to Pioneer PDP508XD 50"
- No programs running but XBMC. Using Mediastream skin
- XBMC running in fullscreen (1360x768 or what it is)
- XBMC no software upscaling turned on (all disabled)
- XBMC most video settings are set as default
- XBMC Vsync disabled ( I believe)
- All movies stored on a Firewire connected Harddrive (FW400)

Here is the problem:
playing DVD images, Xvids, Divx, 720p material all is jerky. it skips frames, and
My Xbox with XBMC plays the DVD material, xvids, divx perfect and smooth, aswell as my PC AMD Sempron 1.6 ghz.

Playing some of the files in Frontrow or VLC makes them run alot smoother, perfect actually.

What setting could cause XBMC to playback even lowQuality Dvds so choppy? If 720P was jerky is one thing, but even lowres material is not playing good.

Ive read that enabling Vsync solves "vertical chopping" but will it do all? the general slow playback aswell? the movies skip frames (or so it looks like).

Someone with a Mac Mini who plays back material perfect (those listed above) can you please post your settings in "VIDEO playback" and other settings you may have altered?.
Since the Xbox plays back all but 720P perfect, I cannot believe my Mac Mini would be too slow.

Thanks alot, and XBMC for sure is the best center solution out there!
