XBMC and video acceleration question...
#1
I know from using XBMC for ATV and Mac Mini that video playback and even HD content playback depends entirely on the processor but what about XBMC for Windows using a an nVidia card? Does playback still rely entirely on processor or is XBMC able to use Video hardware as well?

It's only capable of using the CPU to decode video.
And please search the next time you post, this has been talked about a lot.

I keep reading that you'll want either an E8400 or Q6600 cpu to handle the worst of the worst 1080p stuff.

Which is the better choice? Both CPU's are about the same price.

You are wasting money if you buy the quad. I think the choice is pretty obvious.

3ghz vs 2.4ghz (I didnt look at the cache on them.)

First of all, LOL on this thread. Second, while it is true that the quad is pretty pointless for xbmc, it is WAY COOLER. Also, people will like you more if you use the 6600 and beautiful women will follow you as you walk down the street.

Just my opinion.
