BlueCop,
Have you gotten a chance to take a closer look at this?

Nope i haven't. It might be better to get a baseball fan on board to program it.
I really don't watch much baseball so my motivation to maintain it would be lacking.
I would be willing to try to make a plugin but without an account or much interest in baseball. i might be the wrong man for the job. sorry =/
can you access an account from any ip? i will ask my friends if any of them have an account.

Yes you can, but if there are to many concurrent logins from different IPs, the account is disabled for a few minutes.

I took a closer look at the source forge project and found this.
"NOTE: Top Plays don't require a login, but these parameters are still mandatory. You can include them as user= and pass= without values if you don't have an mlb.com account and only intend to use Top Plays feature."
its all in python already too. so i will try to make something working for top plays and then maybe get some testers for the other stuff i can't directly access.

I've been messing with trying to make a plugin that utilizes the new mlblistings.py program and the gameid program. The problem is I'm just a guy that has taken a few intro programming classes and has never touched python before, so I'm out of my depth.
I devised a regex expression that chops up all the mlblistings data into usable pieces and I used the Mike Wallace Interviews plugin as a framework since it seemed simple. I coded it to the point where the game listings should appear in XBMC, however the plugin fails when I try to run it in XBMC. I'm using commands.getstatusoutput() to read in the output from mlblistings. It works when I do it in the python interpreter, but fails when XBMC attempts it. Here's what the log says:
14:06:01 T:2833234832 M:1468981248 NOTICE: output = commands.getstatusoutput('/home/pedestrian/mlbviewer/mlblistings.py')
14:06:01 T:2833234832 M:1468600320 NOTICE: File "/usr/local/share/xbmc/system/python/python24.zip/commands.py", line 53, in getstatusoutput

14:06:01 T:2833234832 M:1468600320 NOTICE: pipe = os.popen('{ ' + cmd + '; } 2>&1', 'r')
14:06:01 T:2833234832 M:1468600320 NOTICE: OSError
14:06:01 T:2833234832 M:1468600320 NOTICE: :

14:06:01 T:2833234832 M:1468600320 ERROR: Scriptresult: Error
Anyone with more Python experience know what I'm doing wrong?

Hey Theophile, MLB.com Streaming Television is now available on Navi-X. It's not MLB.tv but it's pretty cool looking.
